Prige Jeffrey

Today there are more than 100,000 Americans on a waiting list for a kidney, heart, liver or other vital organ and another person is added every 16 minutes. Many of these people will die waiting for that transplant. Through my work with ARORA (Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency) and UNOS (United network for Organ Sharing) I have realized that more than 25,000 Americans die each year under circumstances that would allow them to become an organ donor but an average of only about 5000 donate a year. The biggest reason for not donating is lack of education about the subject.

Something is wrong with this picture. Everyone can be an organ donor.

*
Check with your State Donor Registry to find out how you can help
*
Tell your family you are interested in being an organ donor
*
Mark yes on your drivers license under Organ Donor
*
Sign a Donor Card

I hope I inspire you to save a life. Educating others on the value of Organ Donation is my passion.
Make Life Happen: Become an Organ Donor. Give Life!

Stephanie Schwarz

Hi my name is Stephanie Schwarz I am 18 years old and just graduated from Mesquite High School. While attending high school I was an active member in the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and a Varsity Cheerleader. I graduated with honors and earned a Presidential Scholarship to Chandler/Gilbert Community College, which I will be attending in the fall. I plan on graduating with an Associates of Business and then continuing my education at Arizona State University where I will work towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant.

A few of the service projects I have participated in included: The Child Crisis Center, March of Dimes, Operation Christmas Child, making health kits for the homeless, and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walks. I completed over 100 hours of community service in one year and was awarded a Presidential Volunteer Service Award for 2006.

Currently over 800,000 Arizonans live in poverty and 20% of them are children. I believe that no person should go hungry and that is why I am partnering up with The United Food Bank. As our economy continues to struggle the need for assistance will increase greatly. It is critical that we have enough supplies on hand to keep up with the demand. So many people would go without if it were not for food banks across the country. I want to use my voice as Miss Teen International to help raise awareness to the public about this basic need and what we all can do to help.

Stacey

Stacey is a senior in high school and the oldest of five children. All four of her siblings are boys. Stacey lives in the Alaska, The Last Frontier. Having four brothers and living in Alaska keeps Stacey grounded and she knows that family is the most important thing in life. 40 below weather keeps her inside in the winter, but also very active in indoor activities. Stacey is proud to be part Athabascan Native, which has a rich cultural background in the Interior of Alaska. Every summer she goes fishing for salmon with her grandparents in Valdez.

She loves acting, singing, camping, fishing, sports, community service, volunteering, and is very involved in school activities and committees. Stacey has participated in student council, track, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and football manager. Stacey enjoys being a teacher's aide for special education students.

Stacey would like to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation. This is a cause very near and dear to her heart. Her baby brother was born with kidney disease. Her goal is to reach as many people as she can to bring hope to families that are in need of these precious life-giving donations. Stacey is working with Donate Life America to bring this cause to the forefront.
Stacey would like to graduate with a degree in psychology that focuses on the needs of children and young adults. She would like to volunteer in a third world country with the Red Cross and helping those who are extremely impoverished.
