The city of Mumbai witnessed one of the largest gatherings for a social cause in recent history. The occasion was the Press Conference for ‘Pearls Wave II’ – an initiative undertaken by Ashi Dua and Aliyah Rashid of Flying Unicorn Entertainment and supported wholly by Jyoti Narain who was representing the Pearls Group.
Along with his presence, PRIYANKA CHOPRA graced the press meet and lent her support to the cause whilst elaborating on her association. Piggy Chops answered the various questions posed to her by the media present in her trademark witty style. The questions varied from her association with Wave, what made her support the cause, how important does she think the education of the girl child is and what she, in her capacity, is doing to further the cause of the girl child education.
After the stupendous success of Pearls Wave I which worked for women against violence, Pearls Wave II comes with the motto ‘Education for Women’. This one-of-a-kind initiative has been tirelessly working in close association with 2 NGOs Muskaan & Nanhi Kali in addressing various causes, the 2 most important ones being raising funds to help build a school and a women’s hostel for young girls and women in Bhopal and secondly to find families who are willing to adopt young girls from Nanhi Kali.
Pearls Wave II also seeks to felicitate talented women from all walks of life and be the foremost night for entertaining and celebrating women. This year the Pearls Wave Concert will be supported by prominent personalities like Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Neha Dhupia, Amir Ali, Mona Singh along with many others and will be held at the MMRDA Grounds, BKC on the 18th of December.
